Menopause and You
Your responses indicate that you may be experiencing natural perimenopause. Perimenopause, also known as climacteric, which literally means “around menopause,” can be triggered by several hormonal changes.
This stage:
- Marks the journey to the final menstrual period. It starts at the time when the irregularities in menses start prior to menopause, and it ends one year after the final menstrual period. Typically starts when women are in their 40s but may start in the 30s and it may last several years.
- Women often experience several symptoms (e.g., irregular menstrual cycles, hot flashes, decreased fertility, mood swings, and more) during this phase.
