Join us in making a difference

Value of Advocacy

The Society shares policy recommendations and concerns with Capitol Hill, the White House, federal agencies, and global policymakers. We identify issues that will impact the profession of endocrinology and patients with endocrine conditions and pursue opportunities to impact relevant policy through our relationships with policymakers and by engaging you, their constituents. Through advocacy campaigns, testimony to Congress, congressional and agency visits, legislative and regulatory comments, and nomination of members to advisory committees, the Society works with our members and coalitions for continual improvement of health policy.

What You Can Do

Take action to help us support endocrine research, care, professionals, and patients! Taking action is faster and easier than ever with our how-to guides.

We rely on you to raise your voice, advocate for our policies and priorities, and show our strength as a community that cares about endocrinology.

Policy Communications

In advocating for research we send a variety of policy communication including advocacy letters, both our own and as part of coalitions. We also provide testimony and friend of the court briefs. Search these communications below, filterable by type and topic.

Tell Congress to Protect NIH From Cuts in FY25

Congress is in the process of determining funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in fiscal year (FY) 2025. This will affect all researchers who receive grant funding from NIH.  Funding for NIH is in serious jeopardy with some members of Congress looking to make deep cuts. This is why the Endocrine Society needs all NIH-funded endocrine researchers to advocate for Congressional support for NIH. The Endocrine Society is urging Congress to maintain a sustained, predictable investment to the NIH base budget and preserve federal research funding to maintain paylines and protect early-stage investigators and trainees. To protect NIH from severe cuts, it is critical that your Representative and Senators hear from you about this issue.
