The 1st International Conference on Steroid Hormones and Receptors (SHR 2024) will be held from Tuesday, October 15 to Friday, October 18, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM, at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center. The meeting will be chaired by Eric Prossnitz (University of New Mexico) and Endocrine Society incoming President Carol Lange (University of Minnesota) with assistance from organizing committee members, Matthias Barton, MD, Brian Harvey, PhD, Zeynep Madak-Erdogan, PhD, and Kimberly Leslie, MD.
SHR 2024 is an international biomedical conference that builds on a 25-year legacy of highly successful conferences: The Steroid Hormones and Receptors in Health and Disease Conference hosted by FASEB Science Research Conferences (SRC) and The Rapid Responses to Steroid Hormones (RRSH) International Meetings hosted by the International RRSH Committee. A joint FASEB-RRSH conference held in 2021 recognized the evolution of the field where physiological and cellular effects of steroid hormones are frequently the result of the combined effects of rapid and genomic signaling. These advances in steroid hormone and receptor biology highlighted the need for a new series of international meetings. The SHR conferences will explore state-of-the-art advances in steroid hormone and receptor functions, both rapid and genomic, in various aspects of biology and medicine in terms of normal physiology and pathophysiology.
The goal of SHR 2024 is to present and discuss advances in steroid hormone action in biology and medicine, exploring their role in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, oncology, neurology, metabolism, cardiovascular biology and endocrinology. The conference will feature Plenary and Keynote Lectures, oral presentations and posters by prominent and emerging leaders as well as trainees in the field. Conference proceedings will be published in an international peer-reviewed journal. Sessions will cover (but are not limited to) the following topics:
SHR 2024 will bring together world-class scientists, researchers, physicians, post-doctoral trainees and students working in various disciplines of steroid hormone and receptor biology and medicine from all over the world. This event also offers the opportunity for companies, institutions, and agencies active in the field to sponsor the meeting. The organizers encourage these organizations to present innovative technologies and advances in drug development, medicines and therapeutics relevant to steroid research, and to exhibit in these areas.
